What does 3–5 working days mean?

The 3–5 working-day period is a usual estimate after a completed application and payment have been received. It should not be read as a promise that every application will be decided on the fifth day. Government review remains outside the control of airlines, embassies and private assistance services.

For a US traveler, calendar timing can feel longer because Vietnam is ahead of US time zones. A form completed during the US afternoon may arrive outside the Vietnam working day. Weekends and Vietnamese public holidays also add calendar days without adding ordinary processing days.

How to count Vietnam business days

Start with the next relevant Vietnam working period after the completed submission and payment. Do not count Saturdays, Sundays or Vietnamese public holidays as ordinary working days. A submission made just before a long holiday can therefore remain pending for more calendar days than expected.

When planning flights, use the Vietnam calendar rather than only a US calendar. Allow additional time for the result to arrive, for you to inspect the issued eVisa, and for any correction or travel-plan issue to be addressed before departure.

What can delay a Vietnam eVisa?

Some delays are caused by application volume or additional authority checks. Others begin with preventable document or data problems. A clear and accurate submission cannot guarantee speed, but it can reduce avoidable correction cycles.

A pending status means the application has not yet reached a final decision. Confirm that the expected number of Vietnam working days has actually passed and check whether a correction or information request was sent to the application email.

Avoid creating conflicting duplicate applications only because the first result has not arrived. The US embassy and consulate cannot change eVisa information or accelerate a Vietnamese government decision. Use legitimate status and support channels, keep the application reference private, and be cautious of anyone promising guaranteed approval.
